INTENDED USE, SPECIFICATION AND BASIC PARAMETERS

Rubber, electrically insulating footwear, DIELEKTRYK ART. 03 type, are designed for working at voltages up to 1kV AC to serve as an additional piece of personal protection equipment. The shoes are made of a special rubber compound with electrically insulating properties. They are moulded and mould-vulcanised. The shoe-top ends with a 50mm wide collar made of rubber turned inside out. Footwear is designed to be worn on other inner footwear (safety, protective or professional footwear).

Parameters of DIELEKTRYK ART. 03 footwear:

– Voltage class 20kV (resistance to electrical breakdown at testing voltage of 20kV during voltage test)

– leakage current during voltage test ≤ 10.0mA

– resistance to electrical breakdown at testing voltage of 30kV during dielectric strength test

– design – C model

The shoes are available in the following sizes according to the manufacturer’s numbering system:

345 (adapted to the inner shoe size: 43/44) – 330mm inside the shoe,

352 (adapted to the inner shoe size: 45/46) – 340mm inside the shoe,

ELECTRICAL INSULATING PROPERTIES

In order to ensure electrical insulating properties that allow reducing the risk of electric shock, the “DIELEKTRYK ART. 03” shoes are made in accordance with the requirements of the KOW/S-01/2011 criteria. Each new shoe is subjected to a voltage test at testing voltage of 20kV, performed by the manufacturer. After obtaining a positive test result, the shoe is marked with a serial number and date of manufacture (month, year). “DIELEKTRYK ART. 03” footwear is marked with the symbol of double triangle (symbol of electrical insulating properties) with the designation of class 20kV (voltage test at the testing voltage of 20kV AC, use under the conditions in which working voltages up to 20kV AC are present). Footwear design also features a collar, which is turned inside out and which improves protective properties of the product (when using the shoe, the collar should be turned inside out to cover the shoe-top).

ATTENTION!!!!! Footwear with electrical insulating properties is used as an additional piece of protective equipment, and if there is a risk of electric shock, such footwear cannot be used as the only piece of protective equipment. If there is a risk of electric shock, use also other, basic safety equipment resulting from the risk assessment carried out.

Electrical insulating properties of “DIELEKTRYK ART. 03” footwear should be confirmed by periodic testing. Such tests should be conducted by competent testing laboratory in intervals of no more than 6 months. The interval between periodic tests should be adapted to the degree of intensity and conditions of use of footwear on the basis of the risk assessment carried out. Also, if you suspect that the conditions of use or storage could lead to loss of electrical insulating properties of the footwear, they must be subjected to periodical test before continuing to use them. A positive test result should be confirmed by issuance of the relevant certificate and by recording the deadline for the next footwear periodic test. There is a space on the “DIELEKTRYK ART. 03” footwear for writing down the dates of periodic tests on the plate printed on the outer side of shoe-top.

PRECAUTIONS BEFORE AND AFTER USE

Before each use the user must perform footwear inspection and ensure that the uppers of the shoes are dry (footwear the uppers of which are wet, partially or completely loses its insulating properties). The user must also check whether the class of footwear corresponds to the nominal values of the voltages present. If there is a risk of cuts, perforation, or exposures, or if there is a risk that the footwear gets wet, which could diminish its electrical insulating properties, please consider using additional pieces of protective equipment. After use, the footwear must be cleaned and dried.
